SECO: gaming PC features AMD Embedded R-series SOC

The best processor platform is of little value in high-end casino games though, if it cannot be easily integrated into applications. Therefore PSM Gaming developed the new G920 CHILI gaming system. It has been designed to meet the specific needs of high-end casino gaming and to fulfill all the international gaming standards and legal requirements. Operation is completely fanless. And that goes for each of the configurable performance levels - from 12 to 35 watts - of the new AMD Embedded R-Series SOC processors. OEMs can even integrate the maximum 35 watt performance of the AMD R-Series SOCs into their designs, and therefore offer players a new gaming experience of the highest quality.

The system controls up to three independent displays with resolutions up to 4k (3840 x 2160) over 3x DisplayPort and two optional video outputs. Even in close proximity to the screen, graphics and H.264 and H.265 encoded videos look outstandingly sharp without pixelation. The system supports up to 32 gigabytes of fast DDR 4 memory, allowing more data to be stored on the RAM. This in turn means that games can be swapped faster and loading time is minimized. In addition to an analog 5.1 audio output, S/PDIF and line-in and microphone ports, the G920 CHILI also offers a 2.1 amplified output with 3x 20 watts. OEMs can directly attach stereo speakers and a subwoofer, without having to invest in a dedicated audio amplifier.

Via 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, ccTalk, 4x RS232 and iButton, OEMs can flexibly connect additional controls and peripherals, such as validators for credit cards, coins and bills. Two Ethernet ports allow for a wide range of network topologies. Storage media can be connected via SATA, CFAST and SD.

In terms of security, the G920 CHILI offers PSP, HWB, DR and a TPM 1.2. It also complies with the SAS and G2S protocols. Further to these hardware features, in accordance with GLI11 certification, PSM has integrated a highly secure Boot Security Chain, not only providing better overall security but also simplifying obligatory and complex security test and audits in the gaming industry.

Further to designing the hardware PSM has also developed the firmware and the BIOS of the G920 CHILI, so these can be adapted to meet individual customer specifications. PSM can therefore also offer its customers additional valuable support in certifying their finished applications according to legal requirements, thus simplifying OEMs lives.

The PSM system integrates a COM Express Basic computer module from SECO, which application developers can also deploy in other applications. Further fields of application are to be found in high-performance industrial panel and box PCs, in high-end digital signage players for large format 4k panels, in industrial vision systems with imaging and video analytics and diagnostic imaging systems in medical technology.
