Logic Technology: new version of UEFI boot loader for next-gen Intel Atom platform for IoT

Insyde Software announced t that its new version of BlinkBoot UEFI Boot Loader now supports the Intel Atom “Apollo Lake” platform. Intel unveiled this new low-cost SOC platform during the Intel Developer Forum in Shenzhen, China earlier this year.

Targeted at embedded/IoT device makers who do not require a traditional BIOS solution, BlinkBoot is a fast, lightweight, and easy-to-customize solution that appeals to customers who do not have BIOS engineering resources on-staff. Unlike many open source boot loaders, BlinkBoot is based on UEFI, a mature, well-understood, and flexible industry standard that has been widely used for over 10 years. This provides BlinkBoot inherent advantages over other solutions, including the way it leverages UEFI’s proven security infrastructure for device security and operating system and applications authentication.

Insyde teamed up with Intel’s Internet of Things Group FSP experts to co-author a white paper entitled: Deploy Fast & Secure IoT Solutions with Insyde Software’s BlinkBoot and Intel Firmware Support Package. Logic Technology is the European sales and support channel of Insyde Software.
