DATA MODUL presents ultra-thin 18.5” monitor at embedded world

Having been presented as a prototype at electronica 2016, the ultra-thin monitor EP185WAD152-1-PCAP-U-DM - a real design gem by Munich display and monitor specialist DATA MODUL - has now gone into series production. With this development in its production process, DATA MODUL again substantiates its expertise in offering complete solutions in respect of developing, manufacturing and finishing cutting edge display units at the embedded world trade fair.

The EP185WAD152-1-PCAP-U-DM consists of an 18.5” LCD panel by Sharp with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixel) in a 16:9 format. This has been equipped with the easyTOUCH solution developed by DATA MODUL in order that an easy exchange is enabled. The touch screen itself is OCA bonded in-house with a 3 mm chemically strengthened front glass. The monitor surface is easily cleaned and is resistant to disinfectants and cleaning agents. The monitor’s is completed with the LCD controller board ST5:3 from the eMotion series - also developed by DATA MODUL.

All of this results in a sophisticated monitor concept, which on the one hand is a standardised product, but on the other hand designed to supplement DATA MODUL’s product range, adapted to customer-specific requirements and as such represents the thinnest OpenFrame monitor ever produced by DATA MODUL so far.

The monitor has been developed in compliance with certification and qualified in the in-house test lab (EMV Chamber). The colour of the standard black metal housing (VESA mounting 100 x 75) and closed cover glass at the front can be adapted as required. DATA MODUL will present this monitor as well as other innovative products from its range at embedded world 2017.
