HEITEC: 2U system enclosure to expand HeiBox ECO line

HEITEC has expanded its extremely low-cost, stable and proven HeiBox ECO housing family based on the tried and tested 19” standard with 2U mounting solutions. Like their 1U companion pieces, they allow for fast assembly as well as flexible adaptation to the respective corporate design requirements and optical specifications.

The HeiBox ECO family is generally designed to provide the widest possible space inside the chassis. This makes it an ideal answer to the trend towards increasing miniaturization of electronics and growing cost pressure in the 19" world, which drives electronic 'packaging applications into ever smaller housings. HEITEC has now presented its 2U HEIBOX ECO for applications which correspond to this development and which are compact on the one hand, while requiring a little more height due to their complex electronics on the other. With its additional height of 1U (= + 4.445 cm), it is particularly suitable for more comprehensive electronics, the installation of boards with plug-in modules, that need a little more space, the assembly of larger power supplies as well as more comprehensive solutions for processor cooling.

The compact steel plate unit is particularly convincing because of its versatility: it is available in five different depths - 150 mm, 200 mm, 250 mm, 300 mm and 350 mm - and can be used both as a rack and as a table-top housing. Due to the combination of EMC clips and novel EMC fabric tape, it can be converted very cost-effectively to a highly effective EMC variant in just a few steps. When customer requirements make it necessary, for instance for a rapid prototyping set-up, its front panel made of aluminum extrusion and aluminum rear panel can be machined easily and flexibly. In addition, HEITEC offers the possibility to customize the enclosures individually even in small quantities - these services range from the individual varnishing of the chassis through front and rear panel processing to individual front panel printing.

The new HeiBox ECO is a versatile standard solution, unmatched in the industry for its cost-effectiveness, and ideal for compact, yet multi-layered applications in the telecommunications and broadcast sectors, microcomputer systems, test and measurement devices, power supplies and all applications that require attractive visual appearance. In conjunction with HEITEC’s comprehensive 19 "-based product and accessory portfolio, customers can benefit from numerous other design advantages. The 2U HeiBox ECO is available now.
