Seco: heterogeneous processing systems based on Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoCs
At embedded world, SECO has showcased a Xilinx-based product for smarter industrial solutions: the SM-B71. This solution is a SMARC Rel. 2.0 compliant module with the Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC. It stands out among SMARC modules for its reduced integration complexity, its dedicated real-time processing unit, multi Gbps transceivers, advanced multimedia H.264/H.265@44 encode and decode and, ultimately, it’s astounding scalability (up to 256K logic cells).
Designed to be a flexible combination of ARM and FPGA with heterogeneous processing in a standard form factor, the SM-B71 mounts Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ CG/EG/EV MPSoCs in C784 package. The product comes in two models, with up to four cores of ARM Cortex A53 MPCore application processing unit and a dual core ARM Cortex R5 real-time processing unit. When it comes to graphics, it features an integrated ARM Mali 400 MP2 GPU, with multi-core 2D/3D acceleration at 667MHz, support for OpenGL ES 1.1 / 2.0, OpenVG 1.0 / 1.1 as well as H.264/H.265 integrated video codec. In terms of connectivity, it is well-endowed, with PCI-e x4, 2x GbE, 2x CAN Bus, 2x SPI and 12x GPIOs. Finally, the memory consists of 8GB + 2GB DDR4 soldered down.
